The Second Coming

The Second Coming is a Co-Op game combining elements of both RTS and MOBA genres. Set in a Futuristic Medieval styled Crusade; the game pitches 2 teams of 2 players against each other on a battlefield.

My Role: I am one out of the two programmers that coded the game ‘The Second Coming’. I was mainly in charge of the Hero and Unit game mechanics such as the Combat System and having them run through the multiplayer network. I also worked alongside the Animators where they provided me the character animations which I then coded into the game, giving our characters “life” when attacking and moving. Some of the animations are; Idle, Attack, Walking, Death and Abilities catered to the specific Hero.

In early testing of the game, I did some prototyping regarding Fog of War but unfortunately in later stages, it was cut down from our project due to problems occurring when it came to multiplayer. As Fog of War is a very essential element in both RTS and MOBA games, Disbanding Studios plan to find an alternative and get a similar if not the same functionality in the future.
